A while back I was asked to do a lead illustration for
Peppermill Records' music/art project called "2999". Essentially, the scene depicts a futuristic rave on some distant planet with a giant robot pumping out the tunes. The dancers are having a great time, but wary of the robot's intentions. I'm excited to announce the project is now up and running. Here is the description of this really cool art/music venture:
"What do you envision for our future? Specifically, 989 years from now? That's a question we asked our producers with this project. Picture the year 2999 and soundtrack it. Show us what might be, or what they'd wish for humanity.
To help bring these visions to life we have a small army of illustrators choosing tracks to interpret. They take the music and the idea and work their magic, and whether it's what the musician had originally imagined, or not, the results are fascinating."
Check the
site frequently as new tracks will be added.
