"See America" posters of National Parks for PrintCollection.com

I had the pleasure of working with PrintCollection.com this past year to create some exclusive travel posters to U.S. National Parks. There are 10 in all.

They're inspired by the WPA posters of the early 20th century. I had fun with these and tried some different styles.

Prints start at only $16.99.

Which is your favourite?

Here are the specs:

Updated 2014 calendars now available!

I've updated a few calendars for 2014. The space travel series is back, along with some propaganda-style and various poster collections. The design of these calendars was more for the image rather than the dates. This was to take advantage of the tall format to fit the posters.

Have a look!

Star Wars travel poster calendar

For everyone who was waiting for updated information on the possible Star Wars travel series as a calendar, it doesn't look like that project will happen.

However, I do plan on expanding the series in the next year so please keep an eye out for those. I'll be sure to blog about it when they are finished.

Thanks,
Steve

Xavier's School poster.

Pants on One Leg at a Time.

Algebraic Function (travel) posters for your favourite math teacher

Timmerman Prints, Inc. had this great idea to combine art and math to come up with some posters that use real world applications of common algebraic functions. I worked closely with them to create these seven images. Not something you'd regularly see in a math class.

If you know any teachers looking for something to hang on their walls, please pass this along!

Hayward, Wisconsin travel posters

My family and I have rented a cabin for the summer just south of Hayward, Wis. Driving through the northwoods city I was inspired to create a couple of travel posters of the area. Hayward is home to the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame. The muskie image is of the huge fish you can walk up inside.

They are now available as Giclee prints in my store. Both are 16 by 20 inches and printed on archival watercolor paper. $40.

Would look great in the cabin or lakehouse.

Gallery 1988 "Product Placement" screen print show

Opening this Saturday, March 9 (2013), Gallery 1988 is hosting a show where your favourite products are featured. The only twist is, none of them exist. They are all from or inspired by TV, Movies, etc. And each piece of artwork is screen printed.

The possibilities were endless and it took a while for me to decide what to do. With the latest Oz movie opening the same weekend, I found it only fitting to pay homage to the original. The result is "TinMan Lubricants"

Tin Man Quality Oil
50 screen prints
18 by 24 inches
Signed and Numbered
One color on French Paper Dur-O-Tone Butcher Off-White

If you can't make it to the show, Gallery 1988 will have prints available online after the opening night.

Gallery 1988 already has a few preview images on their facebook page.

KHAAAAAAN! (Star Trek)

The latest officially licensed Star Trek image for Bye Bye, Robot is now available.

If you haven't seen the Star Trek episode "Space Seed" or haven't seen it in a while, I suggest you check Netflix or Amazon and watch it. Admittedly I didn't remember much of the episode before watching it again. It makes "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan" all that much better.

You can find out more about Khan's history here. It will give you a better understanding of where the poster is coming from. Most of the text in this poster is straight from Khan's dialogue in the show.

Size: 16" x 24"
High Quality Heavy Weight
100lb Acid Free Paper
Only $25

Wizard of Oz travel posters

I went back and read the original "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum for inspiration for these posters. It's a quick and interesting read, especially if the only version you know of the story is the 1939 film. The Tin Woodman actually uses his axe to protect his friends from wolves. And you need a magic hat to control the flying monkeys.

What I thought was truly interesting is how Baum described Kansas - gray. Gray on all sides. Fitting that they started the movie in black and white. And the same reason this Kansas poster is gray.

I'm starting out with 50 signed and numbered prints of each. Giclee on archival paper, 16 by 24 inches. I've set up a special store for pre-order of these prints - $48 each or $154 for the set of four. Please allow up to 3 weeks from now for delivery.
